• The Common Crab (Carcinus maenas), also known as the Green Crab, is a small, aggressive crab species found in coastal waters around the world. It has a broad, greenish-brown shell and can grow up to 10 cm (4 in) across. This species is highly invasive and has spread to many regions outside its native range, where it outcompetes native species for food and habitat. Despite its impact as an invasive species, the Common Crab is not endangered and is abundant in its natural and introduced habitats.
