• The Conger Eel (Conger conger) is a large species of eel found in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has a long, muscular body with a smooth, grayish skin, and can grow up to 3 m (10 ft) in length and weigh over 65 kg (143 lb). Conger Eels are nocturnal predators, feeding on fish and invertebrates. While they are occasionally caught for food, their populations are generally stable, and they do not pose a threat to humans. Their elusive nature makes them a lesser-known species in the eel family.
