• The Decorator Crab (Majoidea spp.) is a unique species of crab found in shallow waters around the world, known for its behavior of adorning its shell with bits of algae, sponges, and other materials as camouflage. They have a triangular-shaped body and long, slender legs. Decorator Crabs can grow up to 10 cm (4 in) in size. This clever disguise helps them avoid predators, blending in seamlessly with their surroundings. Decorator Crabs are not commercially fished, and their populations are stable, posing no conservation concerns.
