Real-Life Counterpart
- The Scarlet Prawn (Aristaeopsis edwardsiana), also known as the Red Shrimp, is a deep-sea crustacean found in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. It has a bright red body and long, slender antennae. Scarlet Prawns can grow up to 30 cm (12 in) in length and are highly prized for their delicate, sweet flavor. They are often caught in deep-sea trawls, but overfishing has led to concerns about their population levels. Conservation efforts are in place to manage their harvest and ensure sustainable populations.
