The following are the rules, policies, and guidelines of the DREDGE wiki.

Rules

  • Flaming - Do not engage in flaming or harassment of any kind.
  • Trolling - Do not engage in trolling or flame-baiting, including using slurs against other users or similar conduct meant to provoke other users.
    • This also extends to chain-jerking, flimflamming, making other users fall for devious ruses, causing your fellow contributors to get tricked, coaxing other users into a snafu, etc.
  • Vandalism - Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Do not engage in edit warring or intentionally vandalize pages. If you break the code of a page by accident, revert the edit or ask an administrator for help in fixing the page.
  • Spam & Promotion - Do not spam or advertise. The DREDGE Wiki is not a place for advertising or promoting anything other than official DREDGE content.
    • Fan art is allowed to be posted and is not considered spam, but it should be kept in the galleries of pages. For more information see Fan Art below.
  • NSFW Content - Posting or linking NSFW content will not be tolerated.
  • Do not post Datamined Content. See Datamined Content below.

Guidelines on Spoilers

Please make sure that spoilers are marked properly, especially relating to plot or ending details. Entire articles or sections of articles that by nature will spoil parts of the game should be marked with Template:Spoiler. For brief spoiler sentences in otherwise inert articles, you can use Template:SpoilerText instead.

DREDGE Wiki abides by the spoiler policy as outlined by Black Salt Games on the official Discord, which states

A spoiler is anything that occurs outside of the first area.

However, due to the nature of a wiki, this policy would encompass most of the wiki. So, our policy is to apply this ethos to story content and any material that could reasonably be considered to be intended as a surprise to a new player. Gameplay that occurs inside the Marrows is not considered to be a spoiler, as well as any story that occurs before the player returns the first relic, the handkerchief, to the Collector.

Datamined Content

Datamined Content is not currently allowed to be hosted on the DREDGE wiki, because it spoils future content for the game. This is per the request of Black Salt Games. To be explicitly clear, the Datamined Content policy is meant to prevent information not readily available to the average player from becoming public. This means that leaking upcoming content is prohibited.

If you are posting Datamined Content that could reasonably be collected by means of regular gameplay, please reach out to an administrator to verify that it is okay to post. For example, a list of spawn locations for a particular fish. This information would be laborious to collect by hand in-game, and is easily verified as being accurate or inaccurate through datamining. However, the code that determines spawn locations would be prohibited. Sometimes the devs share some inside knowledge on the ask-the-devs channel of the official Discord. This information is obviously fair game. If you are still unsure if you should post something, again, please contact an administrator.

Fan Art

Fan art is welcome to be posted in the Gallery section of any page. Feel free to credit yourself with this artwork. However, please be advised that wiki.gg’s terms of service do apply. Below is an excerpt of that policy that applies. If you are planning on posting artwork, we recommend you read the policy in full.

You understand that by posting information or content on the Services or otherwise providing content, materials, or information to the Company or in connection with the Services (collectively, “User Submissions”), the Company hereby is and shall be granted a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable and transferable right to fully exploit such User Submissions (including all related intellectual property and proprietary rights) in connection with the Services and the Company’s (and its successors’ and assigns’) business, including without limitation for promoting the Services, running advertisements, and to reproduce, modify, or prepare derivative works of, display and perform, such User Submissions. For clarity, User Submissions exclude any videos which are or have been uploaded to your channel on a video platform such as YouTube, and the foregoing license grant to the Company does not affect your ownership of the material in your User Submissions, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
