This new ability can be unlocked after providing some assistance to a new character – The Photographer! You’ll find her at a new camp on an island to the south of The Marrows.
Photos will be captured to your system’s in-built gallery on most platforms.
GOG players will find their photos in “Pictures/DREDGE/Screenshots”
Added Passive Mode
This mode can be activated at any stage by selecting the option from the Settings menu. In this mode, you’ve nothing to fear from the creatures of the deep.

Pause In Background – the default behaviour of this has changed so that the game does not pause when it loses focus. (PC only)
Camera Follow Mode – you can now detach the camera from the boat’s turning orientation. This means that when the boat turns, the camera won’t automatically turn to look in the boat’s new direction.
Spyglass Sensitivity – sliders for horizontal and vertical movement.
Haste VFX – disables the visual effects (FOV pull & screen shake) that occur when the Haste ability is activated.

After you’ve acquired your dredge crane as part of the main story, a new character will set up shop at Little Marrow – The Painter! He’ll be able to make adjustments to your boat’s appearance.
The Painter starts with some basic options available, but you’ll be able to discover additional paint ingredients and flag designs.
All crab pots provide some aberration catch bonus, with higher tier / special pots offering a larger bonus.
Mouth of the Deep catch rate and duration reduced to make progressing the crab pot tech tree more meaningful.
Fixes
Fixed an issue where in very rare cases, the game would take longer than expected to save. Losing power during this time would cause save files (and in some cases, backup save files) to become corrupt.
Added a new font which should handle Japanese characters better and prevent them from falling back to use Chinese characters in some scenarios.
Fixed an issue where clicking on the boatupgrade purchase button too quickly could cause the screen to get stuck.
Fixed an issue where some areas of the sea floor reported that they were 100m+ deep when they clearly were not.
Fixed an issue where some achievements would not trigger immediately if the last thing they required was for you to catch a crab.
Fixed an issue where players could get stuck on the map screen if it was switched to another screen while a marker was being placed.
Owners of The Pale Reach DLC will find a new area – and all the features and content it contains.
Players can check their map to see how to get to this new area.
Added a “Control Icon Style” setting to the Display tab. This can be used to force the game to use Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo Switch button icons, instead of attempting to detect what’s plugged in. (PC Only)
Added a “Heartbeat SFX” setting to the Accessibility tab. This can be disabled to silence in-game SFX that feature a heartbeat. (These SFX are mostly in The Pale Reach)

Fixes
The game should no longer silently overwrite a corrupt save when loading from the main menu. It will now show an error message directing players to customer support for recovery assistance.
Fixed an issue introduced in 1.3.0 that caused crashes when reading some messages in some languages.
Fixed an issue where save files could grow too large, causing crashes on Nintendo Switch.
Fixed an issue where the dock at Ingfell would disappear if you looked at it from the wrong angle.
Fixed an issue where the previous line of dialogue would show for a frame as the new line was loading in, making it look and feel as though you’d accidentally skipped over a line. This issue was more prevalent in Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.
Fixed an issue where restoring settings back to default would cause the game to forget which save to use for the ‘Continue’ button.
Fixed an issue where the in-game time would slow or sometimes stop progressing completely for some players. This usually occurred on long-running saves of over 150 days of in-game progress.

Fixed an issue where, in extremely rare cases, if a save file failed to load, the game would overwrite it with a new save.
When a [REDACTED] causes a fish to land on your deck, it now counts towards your catch count in the encyclopedia, and will show the “new species” banner if it’s a new discovery.
Adjusted the position of the panic tutorial slightly to not overlap the panic eye animation so much.
Trawl nets no longer function during the final cutscene, which prevents “new species discovered!” banners from popping up over the climax of the game.
Ravens will no longer spawn if the player is currently right next to a dock.
Random events will no longer spawn while the player is locked in dialogue with the photographer in The Pale Reach.
The light on the Fort in Stellar Basin is now visible from further away.

Quest grids that require players to make a decision about whether to pick up or leave an item no longer show a (non-functional) “Return to town” prompt.
Players can no longer pick up an item from some quest grids and then interact with dialogs with the item still on their cursor.
Removed a couple of bushes that were floating in the sky above Twisted Strand. Apologies to the folks who thought this was us hinting at a secret zone in the clouds!
