Materials are a common Item found in dredge spots around the map. These materials are used to Upgrade the ship at the Dry Dock/Floating Dock. There are four types of materials:

An outlier of Materials is Research Parts. These are earned from completing most quests, as well as being purchasable from the Travelling Merchant. These Materials are used for researching new equipment for merchants to sell.
