Engine

Engines are required to traverse the world of DREDGE. Different engines come in different sizes and provide different bonuses to your sailing speed. Equipping more engines stacks the bonuses to your speed.

Note that while larger engines provide more speed, having a single engine means that taking hull damage could destroy the engine. Therefore it may be a good idea to split your engine power over more than one engine.

In-game engine tooltips display speed taking into account any book bonuses.

Book Bonuses

There are 2 books that provide bonuses to engine speeds.

Note that despite the bonus text saying "...more movement speed than listed", the in-game tooltip does actually show the adjusted speed, ie. it shows the bonus.
