The Handkerchief is the first Relic you receive, given to you by the Fishmonger for bringing him an grotesque fish. Receiving this item also draws the attention of the Collector.

For returning the handkerchief, the player is rewarded with dredging equipment.

Trivia

• Although the game doesn't count the handkerchief as a relic on the save screen, the handkerchief is the first item the player recovers that has a relationship to the Book of the Deep. This can be recognized by the background color when the item is in the player's cargo, and the Collector's identification of its crimson colors and silver stitching.
• Unlike the other relics in game, the handkerchief is not used in the final ritual.
