Last Fisherman

The Last Fisherman an unseen character mentioned by the Fishmonger and the Mayor.

According to the mayor, he was unreliable, going out at night and coming back with no fish then sleeping the day away. He was also a terrible captain, prone to running aground on reefs. One evening he simply left and never returned. As for the fishmonger, he will only say that it takes a certain type of person to last out there. He doesn't seem to be particularly missed by anyone.

The following information contains spoilers regarding the story or ending of the game. Discretion is advised.

What is possibly the Last Fisherman's boat can be found wrecked on the island at coordinates L5. This boat has a similar inventory space to the player's Boat, and a Weak Valve Engine and Basic Fishing Pole can be found here. It could instead be that this is the Fisherman's original boat from the opening cutscene, but this does not seem to line up with the location where it is supposed to have crashed.

It seems likely that the last fisherman had accompanied the Old Mayor and the Collector when the book was dredged up.
