Real-Life Counterpart
- The Armored Searobin (Peristedion miniatum) is a bottom-dwelling fish found in deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a unique appearance with a heavily armored body covered in bony plates and long pectoral fins that resemble wings. This species can grow up to 30 cm (12 in) in length. Armored Searobins are not dangerous to humans and are known for their distinctive "walking" behavior on the seafloor using their modified fin rays. Their populations are stable, and they are not a target for commercial fisheries.
