The Arrow Squid is a nocturnal Cephalopod that can be caught in The Marrows in Dredge.

Only being found at night, it is somewhat more dangerous to fish up than the regular starter area fish such as Blue Mackerel and Cod.

The Arrow Squid is part of your introduction to night fishing after the Fishmonger requests two of them, warning you of the dangers of sailing at night.

Real-Life Counterpart

• The Arrow Squid (Nototodarus sloanii) is a fast-swimming cephalopod found in the waters around New Zealand and southern Australia. It has a slender, torpedo-shaped body and large, expressive eyes. Arrow Squid can grow up to 40 cm (16 in) in length. They are known for their rapid movements and ability to change color to blend in with their surroundings. Arrow Squid are an important part of the marine food web and are also commercially fished for their tender, flavorful meat. Their populations are currently stable, and they are not considered threatened.
