Real-Life Counterpart

  • The Hammerhead Shark, belonging to the genus Sphyrna, is known for its distinctive hammer-shaped head, which enhances its sensory capabilities and helps with prey detection. There are several species of Hammerhead Sharks, with the Great Hammerhead (Sphyrna mokarran) being the largest, reaching lengths of up to 6 m (20 ft) and weighing over 450 kg (1,000 lb). Found in warm waters around the world, they are often spotted in coastal areas and near coral reefs. Hammerheads are social creatures, frequently found in schools, and are primarily carnivorous, preying on fish, squid, and crustaceans. Although they are not considered aggressive towards humans, Hammerhead Sharks are vulnerable due to overfishing and habitat loss, prompting the need for conservation measures to protect their populations.
