- The Glowing Octopus (Stauroteuthis syrtensis) is a deep-sea cephalopod known for its bioluminescent ability, with light-producing organs called photophores on its arms. This octopus is found in the deep waters of the North Atlantic Ocean and has a gelatinous body with webbed arms. It can grow up to 40 cm (16 in) in length. The Glowing Octopus is not dangerous to humans and is adapted to life in the dark depths of the ocean. Little is known about its population status due to its deep-sea habitat.
