• Trilobites are an extinct group of marine arthropods that flourished during the Paleozoic era, particularly from the Cambrian to the Permian periods, approximately 520 to 250 million years ago. Known for their distinctive three-lobed body structure, which is divided into a cephalon (head), thorax, and pygidium (tail), trilobites varied greatly in size and morphology, with some species reaching lengths of up to 70 cm (28 in).
